Hernan Cortes was born in 1485 in Medellín (Badajoz). He was the Spanish conquistador of the Aztec empire in Central America. He was named governor and captain general of the New Spain. He married twice and had eleven children. He died in Seville in 1541.
Pedro de Alvarado was born in Badajoz in 1485. He participated in the conquest of Cuba. Also he explored Yucatan coasts, the gulf of Mexico and the conquest of Mexico leaded by Hernán Cortés. So he was a famous conquistador of a great part of Central America (El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala). He had a vigorous character and most people described him as cruel person responsible for many killings. He died in Nochistlan in 1541.
